Inside the Flight Lab: Nine Labs, One Loop, Zero Guesswork

By Sean McKay Holt, MBA · Co-founder, Chief Pilot and Lead Instructor, Quantum Dynamics

The Quantum Dynamics Flight Lab home screen: Learn the chart, own the decision

Most Part 107 prep is a video playlist and a prayer. The Flight Lab is something else: an interactive trainer built by the instructors who teach our live classes, designed around the way pilots actually learn to work.

The loop

Every lab runs the same three-beat loop. Build the idea with an interactive lesson. Find it on a real chart, a live sectional, not a screenshot of one. Use it on a mission, a scenario where the knowledge has to survive contact with a decision. Nine labs cover the full exam footprint: airspace, sectional charts, weather, loading and performance, regulations, operations, and more, with lessons that cite their FAA sources so you can verify everything yourself.

Built for every kind of eyes

Our Color Clue system teaches chart reading by structure, pattern, and label, so the skill does not depend on telling magenta from blue. It started as our way of teaching color-blind students properly, and it turned out to make every student faster and more accurate. The card version is free in the Academy.

An honest exam simulation

The practice bank runs 317 questions, and the full exam simulation mirrors the real sitting: 65 questions, the 60 scored items plus the unscored validation questions PSI commonly includes (reported as five). You will know exactly where you stand before you pay the testing center a dollar, and our study plans are built from the lab data: drill the weak domains, not the whole book.

Who it is for

First-time candidates who want to pass once, working pilots coming back for recurrent training, public safety teams standardizing a UAS unit, and instructors who need their students to arrive at the testing center ready. The Flight Lab is the foundation layer of everything we teach. First Contact, our counter-UAS readiness program, is the layer on top of it.

The Academy

Train with the crew that teaches it

The Quantum Dynamics Drone Academy on Skool is free to join: the full Part 107 course path, the Flight Lab, and a community of working pilots.
